PARASIM®’s latest addition is the new HX500 Low-Profile Parachute, which is being adopted by the US Air Force for use on the AC-130 to replace the BA-22 parachute. The HX500 is a lightweight, steerable round canopy with the patented BAT Sombrero Slider™, which modulates the canopy opening speed. STI worked closely with the canopy manufacturer to develop our HX500 simulation model, so aircrew personnel can now train for emergency egress under this new canopy before they ever have to bail out using it.
