Laboratory
One of the distinguishing factors for any research institution is having a laboratory that allows flexibility for a wide range of research and enough hardware and technology to allow for specialization in specific areas.
For Systems Technology, having the right kind of laboratory is a key factor in our ability to provide top caliber research and development within our specialties and to break new ground with cutting edge technological breakthroughs.
Below is just a sample of the capabilities we have in our on-premise laboratories.
- 6 Degree of Freedom Motion Base with MOOG technology
Partnering with Moog, we have developed a testing facility for advanced motion queuing in six degrees of motion. This facility affords us the capability to do research and development of advanced motion queuing techniques as well as subject based studies using various simulation systems. - Advanced Computing Power
Featuring a 7 node Beowulf cluster from Aspen Systems we have the computational computing power to crunch numbers at a highly efficient rate. Our Beowulf cluster is currently being used to process computational fluid dynamics (CFD) as part of our ground breaking free-fall dynamics program – FAST. - Flight Simulation Laboratory
Over the years Systems Technology has developed a long standing tradition of excellence in aviation and avionics research. This tradition has necessitated the use of various flight simulation technologies from fixed wing to rotary wing aircraft. - Parachute Simulation Laboratory
From our fully motorized parachute simulation system to our cadre of simulation and development stations we continually use our resources to build better simulations and support a wide spectrum of real-world simulated environments and simulated parachute canopies. - Virtual Reality Simulation Laboratory
Whether it is the design and development of new virtual worlds for our award winning PARASIM® Simulator or breaking new ground in optical tracking, our virtual reality simulation laboratory has been developed to allow our team to utilize the best equipment and methodologies needed to continuously excel. - Motion Control Laboratory
Utilizing an OptiTrack motion capture system from NaturalPoint, we have built a sophisticated motion capture laboratory that is used for a wide variety of implementations. From developing systems that allow you to physically interact with a virtual world to precise motion modeling, our facility is equipped to push the envelope of human/machine interaction. - Advanced, Full-Cab, Wide-Field-of-View Driving Simulator Featuring STISIM Drive®
One of the founding principles of Systems Technology has always been a deep desire to understand the relationship between humans and machines. This principle is carried on today through our extensive research in human factors and human machine interface and our driving simulator is a key component in our research capabilities.
