This is necessary for the advanced dynamics option to run correctly with scenarios that do not have an ES in them. Fixed a bug in the terrain generation routine that caused various problems at intersections. This mostly effects how intersections look while turning and it may cause intersections in currently existing scenarios to look a little different, but it makes the intersection geometry universally consistent. Build 2.05.05 (January 2004): Adjusted the number of roadway segments displayed by the software because occasionally (based on the way the road is defined) you could drive through an existing section of road. This can still be done, but is much more difficult. Changed the button inputs so that it will recognize multiple inputs at once (for example panning the scene while the turn signal is active). Added some additional variables to the open module dynamic variables structure. Added total number of illegal turns to the mistake portion of the data file. Fixed a problem with the RMS event crashing when using an initial longitudinal offset. This only occurred if an RMSE event is activated before an RMSB because of the initial offset. Fixed a problem when specified roadway textures not appearing at the beginning of a run. Fixed a problem with displaying medians in intersections, they were not placed correctly with respect to the crosswalk Added an option to the pedestrian (PED) event that allows you to set it so that the pedestrian velocity will be set so that it will cause a collision unless something is done. This essentially removes the driver's speed componet from the equation. Check the pedestrian help file (SDLPedEvent.htm) for specific details. Fixed a problem with the vehicle motion logic and the way the cars respond when using the always relative (/) option Fixed a problem when using the vehicle in lane event (V) when turning the vehicle sideways (L and R). Previously the software did not handle crashes correctly (you had to hit the vehiocle in the middle). This has been corrected. Added a couple of new parameters to the Intersection event (I) dealing with turning. The simulator will now keep track of what happened at each intersection and score it accordingly. Check the I event (SDLEventI.htm) and the STISIM Drive data file (STISIMDateFile.htm) for specific details. Fixed a conversion bug when displaying the odometer in metric units. Fixed a problem with "smart" vehicle positioning at red lights. Previously the stopped position of the vehicle was incorrectly computed using the "limit line" parameter of the SL event. This is no longer the case and the vehicles are aligned based on the roadway and crosswalk dimensions. Corrected a problem with graphics mode setting on single screen systems that have 2 display adapters with one of the adapters disabled. Corrected a problem with "smart vehicles" not always waiting till a traffic signal turned green before proceeding. Corrected a problem with the mirror position values when using metric units. Corrected a problem with the sound effects still playing when the SDL PAUS (pause) event or the pause button (on the steering console) were used during a simulation run. In all cases, if a run is paused, the sound effects will not be paused, their volumes will just be set to 0. Added an additional action trigger (#20) that allows using relative absolute roadway distances with PDE files. This triggers acts based on the location of the driver in order for the trigger to activate. Build 2.08.04 (November 2005): Corrected a problem with collision blocks not being referenced to the roadway correctly. Added an option for disabling the vehicle yawing motion (change in heading) when a vehicle is performing a lateral change due to a programmed action. The default is as the vehicle performs the lateral movement, the vehicle's heading angle changes, however in some instances this looks really bad and cartoonish, therefore an option has been added to disable this motion. See the A and V SDL events for information on how this is accomplished. Corrected a problem with passing parameters to the Open Module using a scenario file. Previously it was shifting parameters one place to the right. Corrected a problem with crashes in autopilot mode not resetting correctly. Updated the blinking red light light so that if the European lighting sequence is used the light will blink yellow instead of red. Fixed a problem with the left most digit of the digital speedometer being larger than the other 2. Added an option to the PR event which allows you to specify if the recording will continue to play during a crash or not. See the PR event help file for details. Added the ability to output data from an Open Module that can be stored within a BSAV block. See the BSAV help file and Open Module documentation for details. Corrected a problem with the "Startup instructions bitmap file" causing a problem if it was left blank. Build 2.09.03 (August 2006) Added the ability to output the current speed limit in miles/hour to the BSAV, CAO, and SOUT events. Refer to their documentaion for details. Added an option to the PR event which allows you to specify if the a currently playing recording will be stopped if a new PR event is launched. See the PR event help file for details. Added the number of times the warning is played to the car following event output in the STISIM Drive data file. Build 2.10.00 (October 2006) Corrected a problem in the data file with the FLLW data writing the number of warnings on the wrong line and with the Tailgating section writing the vehicle's minimum speed on the wrong line. Add the support for the new SPWN event including adding the total number of low speed warnings and high speed warnings into the data file mistakes section. Updated BSAV parameter 18 to include collisions with barriers, lane markers and collision blocks. Data file now includes the maximum values obtained during a speed exceedance, road edge excursion and center line crossing. See the help file for the STISIM Drive data for details. Added 4 new event triggers that are all based on speed. View the ActionTriggers.htm help file for details (triggers 21-24). Corrected a problem with Parameter 7 of the pedestrian (PED) event not working correctly with metric units. Build 2.10.01 (December 2006) ****** VERY IMPORTANT CHANGES ****** This version of the software has changed the way the speedometer gauges and turn signals work. The analog gauges look different and the turn signals are no longer in the roadway display but are now in the dashboard of the vehicle. There were numerous resons for doing this that are too lengthy to go into here. Reveiw the help file Vehicle.htm for details on setting these parameters. The biggest effect you may see is in the turn signal displays because the software will still be using your old settings and making its best guess as to what to do with the turn signal placement. There is an option in the turn signal parameter window for having the software automatically set the location of the turn signals, you should probably use this option to start and then adjust the settings if you do not like them. This could also make the car/dashboard look a little funny when playing back older runs because the turn signals will be in a different spot. Fixed a bug in the playback mode that prevented playbacks from earlier versiosn of the software (before 2.07.03) from running correctly on later versions of the software. Corrected a bug with the analog speedometer display not displaying the correct value on certain size and shaped screens. Changed the way the speedometer is displayed to prevent this from happening in the future. Fixed a problem with multiple play recording events (PR) not working correctly when the looping option is being used. Fixed several problems with the cruise control option. The cruise indicator should now always be displayed when cruise is selected. You can now turn cruise control off by pressing the cruise button. You can now hold the button until you get to the desired speed and when the button is released that will be the cruise speed. You can also now use the accelerator to speed up when in cruise control, however when the accelerator is released the speed will drop back to the cruising speed. During playback on single screen systems, the recording codec screen will now be displayed on the screen. Build 2.10.02 (February 2007) Corrected a problem with the program crashing while using signal light triggers in metric based scenarios. Build 2.10.03 (April 2007) Corrected a problem with the RMSB events not displaying the block name properly in the data file. Corrected a problem that caused a bad file mode error when mixing and matching normal and encrypted previously defined event (PDE) files in the same scenario file. Corrected a problem that caused the roadway to display incorrectly if the size of the left roadway components widths (lane, shoulder, foreslope) was an order of magnitude larger than the right. Corrected a problem with the vehicle reseting correctly after a crash when the "Reset speed" option is selected. Build 2.10.04 (August 2007) Corrected a problem with the bicycle vehicle causing a random subscript out of range error (Error #9). Cleaned up the speedometer/tachometer gauges so that they size better with the selected screen resolution. Cleaned up a problem with older playback files (2.06.07) not working correctly. Added a couple of additional outputs to the TDO event to deal with blind spot vehicles. Refer to the TDO event help file for details. Build 2.10.05 (September 2007) Corrected a problem with BSAV event variables 26-28 not being output during a playback Corrected an issue with the terrain not acting correctly when a median is used and the road is transitioned from one set of characteristics to another. Corrected a problem with the Open Module returning an error code at the end of a run. Added an additional option to the POLY event when using screen based polygons. The new option allows for turning off the dashboard so that only the roadway scene and polygon are visible. This is intended to allow full screen images to be shown to the driver without the gauges being displayed. Fixed a problem with collision blocks (COLB event) ignoring the post crash buffer distance. Added an option to the blaning event (B) that allows the sound to also be turned off during the event. Corrected a problem with BSAV variable 23 (speed in MPH) not outputing KPH when in metric mode. Corrected a problem when changing the eyepoint on wide field of view systems. Previously the side views would not always keep up and could get out of synch with the front view. Corrected a problem with playbacks created using the advanced dynamics not turning corners correctly.
